The "unified" power of the QMC Program allows you to open one data set and run it through each of the Data Mining program sections:  DataScreener, Auditing & Monitoring, Modeling,  Control and Optimization.  Your original data set remains in tact.  The QMC Program is designed to be as easy as 1) Open the Data Set, 2) Build the algorithm, and 3) Use on-line or off-line. 

As to on line applications, the QMC Program provides the equations (code) you require for building your own C or FORTRAN executables.  You will have to add some simple library calls and/or historian/DCS calls.  If you request this feature, QMC can provide this as a template.  We can also work out any DDE links, as may be required. Additionally, QMC can provide automatic executable builds if needed.  We just need to know your specs and requirements.

The QMC Engineering Program is included in the QMC Program.  It provides a sizing, specification, and rating environment for piping, equipment, instrumentation and controls.  Sections include unit conversions, flow elements, pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, vessels, separators and decanter.  This program is an essential tool to assist in troubleshooting problems.

Data Screening Programs

Obtaining true operating conditions is an essential requirement to ensure process goals are met.  Programs provide a graphical interface to an Excel database for data screening, filtering and statistical analysis.  The DataScreener allows the user to review and remove bad and/or redundant data.  Purge corrupted data and outliers through statistical, modeling, auditing and optimization methods.  This will maximize quality, productivity, efficiency and profit.

Screening data is one of the most important steps for successful predictions and models. The data must contain relevant information to render solutions.   This is why the QMC Data Mining Programs are very beneficial. You must have variations in the data set.  Redundant data acts as one data point.  DataScreener programs include:

Select Variables - select, remove or rearrange variable names or columns in the desired manner.

Transforms - insert transformation to existing variable names to manipulate data as an Excel spreadsheet.

Variable Statistics - analyze single or several columns statistically.  Calculate numerical statistics and correlations from variables.

Graphics DataCut - graph and edit a single column to remove outliers, bad and/or redundant data while keeping track of all cuts.  Data Graph Focus presents a red bordered screen indicating viewed cuts.

Multi-Graph DataCut - graph and edit several columns to remove outliers, bad and/or redundant data while keeping track of all cuts.  Multi-Graph also offers viewing of all cuts.

X-Y Graphics Plot - remove outliers, bad and/or redundant data and to show scatter plots of one variable on another.

Run Chart - remove outliers, bad and/or redundant data and to show average, standard deviations and Q-Sum.

Distribution Chart - remove outliers, bad and/or redundant data using the normal distribution of the selected variable.

Graphics DataFilter - a unique method to uncover repetitious data rows plus remove outliers, bad and/or redundant data with advanced filtering techniques including the QMC Variable, QSum, Exponential Filter, and Data Fix.

Auditing & Monitoring Programs

The value of functioning sensors during operations is vital in controlling any process.  

SensorError Meter validates sensor measurements and status, determining statistically when sensor errors occur.  

SensorFault Meter establishes the validity of sensor measurements using a voting protocol to ensure that neither readings nor sensors are in error.  

QualityIndex shows  operational stability and process consistency.  A decline in QualityIndex directly correlates with operations not meeting targeted set points and provides the top factors contributing to the decline.  Instability in equipment results in quality and efficiency losses in the the process that can lead to failure resulting in plant shutdown and subsequent safety and environmental concerns.  

Equipment Performance Meter provides status on how equipment is performing, when maintenance is required, or when a complete shutdown is necessary to repair the item. 

Modeling Programs

The  QMC Program provides 30 modeling methods that allow the user to pick the variables to model.  

VB Model is QMC's "Very Best" multivariable data modeling tool that uses the best features of neural networks and multivariable regression to provide improved accuracy and speed in model generation.  

ANN Model is an Artificial Neural Network program that determines the relationships between data for any type of process.  Use as a prediction tool to establish a model for the desired process using algorithms of linear, sine, sinh, tangent and tanh.  

PolyModel, or polynomial modeling, determines relationships between actual data and desired variables for any process.  Available as Ortho, Series, Combo and Gauss.  

Modeling results can be used for prediction, control and optimization of any process.  Equations can be accessed to verify solutions and obtain numerical values at desired conditions.  Results can be used in other applications or as computer code.

Control Programs

The programs in the Control section allow calculations using the proportional only, proportional plus integral and proportional, integral and derivative tuning factors, based on data provided.  The Control programs interface with Excel data but can be configured through dynamic data exchange to interface directly with DCS or historian systems.  

StepTuner provides tuning constants of a controller based on a step test of a process.  

PulseTuner provides tuning constants of a controller based on a pulse test of a process for determining the controller tuning parameters.  

Multi Control Analysis uses the gains of a process to determine the best control configuration for a given operation.  This program provides multivariable loop pairings to improve control and continually monitor the performance of the system.

Optimization Programs

The Optimization section of the QMC Program includes the following.  

The EquationSolver program solves simple or complex algebraic equations numerically.  Copy and paste features allow equations and solutions to be inserted into spreadsheets, documents or other applications.

Result Programs

Results are offered in several formats and provides computer code for online use. 

QMC Results Screen shows the predicted versus actual and current numerical values from the data set.  

QMC Sensitivity Screen provides the predicted versus actual and sensitivities in graphical formats. 

QMC Optimization Screen provides a way to determine the settings to reach a goal.  The user can select the result requirements and the optimization routine will adjust the dependent variable values to meet the requirements.  If needed, the user can also constrain the independent values to a selected value.

QMC ModelSolver Results provides all equations needed to calculate results.  This can be provided as computer code for interfacing with the DCS or historian computer.  

Excel Results Summary is used to evaluate different modeling results and keep a record of corresponding accuracies.

Add Excel Add Predicted provides the predicted value in a spreadsheet for future use in the graphic packages or for model comparisons.

Excel Calculations provides all model results in spreadsheet form for sensitivity analysis and optimization.  The ANN Model gives the neural net weights for all hidden layers as well as calculation results.

Engineering Programs

The QMC Engineering Program provides a sizing, specification, and rating environment for piping, equipment, instrumentation and controls.  Sections include unit conversions, flow elements, pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, vessels, separators and decanter.  Results offer the calculations, operating costs, applicable pump types available, ++more.  References for calculation basis are provided.  Custom packages can be developed for specific needs. 

The QMC Engineering Program is an essential tool to assist in troubleshooting problems.  Also provided are physical properties, electrical, mechanical & standard process engineering conversions with point and click simplicity.
